Tods Engineering apply a range of fundamental analysis techniques to meet customer specifications and operational requirements. A wide range of both commercial and in-house analysis packages are utilised to design fully engineered solutions.
Finite element analysis is used extensively to model structural behaviour under either static or dynamic loading conditions. ‘In-house’ developed software is used to model acoustic and electromagnetic characteristics. This approach, coupled with extensive design expertise in the field of composite structures, enables the accurate prediction of ‘in-service’ component behaviour thus minimising or eliminating the need for expensive and/or time consuming verification testing.
The core analysis capabilities are listed as follows:
- Finite Element Analysis (FEA)
- Composite materials (hybrid, sandwich, fire retardant structures)
- Structural analysis (linear, non-linear, dynamics, spectral response analysis etc.)
- Fluid Structure Interaction
- Acoustic and vibro-acoustic (sonar domes, acoustic windows, stealth coatings)
- Electromagnetics (Radomes)
- Stealth (radar reflective, radar absorbent RAM structures)
