VIGILANT GETS THE TREATMENT FROM TODS DEFENCE

Acoustic stealth coatings specialists and composite engineers at Tods Defence are continuing to support dockyard service operations with yet another contract for maintenance and repair of the exterior of the Royal Navy submarine HMS Vigilant which is currently in for a major re-fit. During its time in dry dock the entire hull of the submarine will be inspected and any damaged surfaces re-clad to bring it back to original operational standards.

Steve Burton, Managing Director Tods Defence says: “This is another example of our dockyard service to the navy and where we are involved during the through-life of a vessel. We have full quality accreditation for the preparation and application of stealth materials for projects of this complexity. With other vessels due for refurbishment we are developing an even stronger technical support team to meet future demand over the next decade”

Engineers from Portland-based Tods Defence design and apply solutions for external acoustic cladding for naval vessels throughout the world and have been developing stealth treatments for more than thirty years.
