TODS ON THE NOSE FOR ON-TIME DELIVERY TO ASTUTEMarine composite engineering specialists at TODS DEFENCE have completed the design, build and installation of the Bow Sonar Dome for the Royal Navy’s, Astute Class submarine. A site team from TODS installed the Bow Sonar Dome over a period of sixteen weeks at Devonshire Dock Hall (DDH) submarine building facility. Steve Burton, Marine Director, TODS DEFENCE says: “Our design and engineering teams have been closely involved with BAe SYSTEMS from the outset. The logistics of the Astute programme has requires careful planning throughout this site installation phase, and we believe the completion of this first of class, on-time, in-budget, has been very successful.” TODS involvement will continue over the coming years with the two other Class submarines Ambush and Artful. |
