TODS AEROSPACE MARTIAL THE ART OF QUALITY CONTROL TRAININGComposite aerospace products manufacturer Tods Aerospace Limited has successfully rolled out the first phase of the internationally renowned ‘Six Sigma’ which represents a methodology that when applied to either manufacturing or transactional processes it will provide businesses with the necessary tools to improve the capability and consistency of their business processes. The discipline will reflect in itself improved performance, and significant savings for the company. Tods Aerospace Limited to date has awarded yellow belt qualifications to eleven members of its aerospace management team. The Six Sigma methodology, which borrows martial arts ranking terminology, creates a disciplined and diverse infrastructure of expertise across management to monitor and remove errors and to prevent possible defects in both the manufacturing and on-going service-related processes. Tods Aerospace state: “Introducing Six Sigma training to our own key specialists such as production leaders, estimators, data controllers and procurement staff, it will allow us to develop a highly qualified nucleus of people to support our own ‘Continuous Sustainable Improvement’ programme, as Tods Aerospace themselves further their advance for Silver and Gold Accreditation of the industry’s SC21 21st Century Supply Chain Programme, by 2010.” Already Tods Aerospace has five SC21 change agents within the company undertaking the more rigorous and challenging Green Belt training. |
