FOUR NEW APPRENTICES COME ON BOARD AT TODS AEROSPACE
Rapidly expanding composites engineering manufacturer Tods Aerospace Limited, based at Crewkerne, Somerset, continue to embrace the recognised National Engineering Manufacture Advanced Apprenticeship Framework with a further intake of four new apprentices on a rigorous four year programme. Aged between 17 and 19, the four young intakes will undertake a series of defined craft and technician modules on the shop-floor interfacing with complementary engineering studies at the nearby Yeovil College. The pre-planned course is aimed to achieve full technical accreditation, to NVQ Level 3, by year four. Richard Winterbottom, Tods Aerospace Operations Director says: “As a lead industry supplier of composite material products we need specialist engineering skills that take time and understanding to develop. Taking on another four young people to learn these skills is important for Tods with a number of on-going high profile contracts spreading over several years to come. This style of succession planning and training is fundamental to the ethos of the Company with two of our current Board members who have come up through the engineering apprenticeship route” . |
