FIFTEEN YEAR PROJECT ENDS IN TRIUMPH FOR TODSThe completion of an acoustic upgrade and refurbishment of the Bow Sonar Dome aboard the Royal Navy’s submarine HMS Triumph ends a fifteen year association for specialists at TODS DEFENCE who have supplied and fitted Bow Sonar Domes to the Swiftsure and Trafalgar Class fleet. TODS engineers have worked continuously on new-build, and subsequent refurbishment, of Bow Sonar Domes on all seven vessels since the early 1990s. After signing-off the final project Steve Burton, Director TODS DEFENCE said: “This has been a demanding engineering project over many years, which has allowed for the development, even the re-development, of acoustic technology in relation to Bow Sonar Domes. The experience of working with operations teams of the MoD, the shipbuilders themselves, and the Royal Navy has led to TODS equipment being specified for the Astute class of submarines.” |
