TODS DEFENCE LAUNCHED

W & J Tod (Holdings) Limited has announced the formation of TODS DEFENCE LTD, a dedicated company specialising in the design and manufacture of composite and acoustic structural products to support naval and defence partnerships.

The Company also produces large composite structures for industrial applications, and will operate fully from accredited facilities at Portland in Dorset.

Heading up TODS DEFENCE as Managing Director, is Steve Burton, previously the Sales and Marketing Director. Nick Pallent, as Business Development Manager, will take responsibility for the customer service, sales and support role.

In a statement, Simon Finch, CEO, W & J Tod (Holdings) Limited said: “TODS DEFENCE has been formed against the backdrop of a high-value order book and long-term high visibility projects such as contracts for Sonar Bow Domes for surface vessels and submarines with the Royal Navy, US Navy, and Spanish, Norwegian and Indian Navies. Our commitment to our customers remains the highest priority and we have invested heavily in the specialist design and engineering expertise and facilities at Portland, to drive this sector of the business forward.”

“Towards the end of 2007, we also re-aligned our aerospace products division as a separate company, TODS AEROSPACE LTD, who are currently fulfilling contracts to both military and commercial airframe manufacturers and aircraft refurbishment companies on both sides of the Atlantic.”
