TODS DEFENCE COMPLETE AMBUSH SUBMARINE BOW DOME CONTRACT

Following the successful design, build and installation of the first of series Bow Sonar Dome for the Royal Navy’s HMS Astute submarine, Tods Defence has now successfully completed the second bow sonar dome for next of class HMS Ambush.

Working closely with BAE Systems at Barrow in Furness, Tods has installed the composite sonar dome structure using specially developed polymeric materials and processes. The sonar domes are designed to protect and optimise the performance of the underwater sensor suite while providing a robust resistance to environmental conditions.
