Thermoplastic materials technology was developed and utilised by Tods for privacy screens attached to premium class seating modules in A340's for a major international airline. Materials were certified and approved for use by Airbus for A340's. The privacy screens were subjected to stringent dynamic 16G and 8G testing to verify their ability to remain intact during extreme operating conditions.
There was a requirement for tight radius bends, which ideally suited a thermoplastic solution.
Pre-preg/autoclave thermoset materials were utilised in panelling for premium class seating cubicles for a major middle eastern airline. Cubic printing surface finishing techniques were supplied to some panels. Others were supplied ready for trimming in leathers, schneller film or tedlar.
All materials are prepared and formed in 'clean room' conditions and cured in autoclaves to ensure total material integrity.
